I’m Jessica Pasley Goodpaster
I’m a recovering perfectionist, a fan of good food, a planner, and a pun enthusiast. My husband of 12 years is my best friend and my favorite person. We have two sweet kiddos—a 10-year-old son who I birthed out myself (with the help of medical staff and a double dose of epidural drugs) and a six-year-old daughter who we flew all the way to China to adopt when she was 18 months old. I’ve always been passionate about helping people and have spent most of my adult life volunteering and/or working in the nonprofit sector. My experience with grant writing and reviewing, fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, account management, and marketing were invaluable for funding my own adoption as well as helping others raise money for their own.

In 2012, I stepped away from a leadership position in a career I loved to take a part-time job so that I could focus more time on my family. In 2018, I hung up the towel on traditional employment to stay at home full time. Though absolutely the right decisions, I have had to manage these significant cuts to our household budget and have learned how to save money without compromising a fun and fulfilling life. Now I hope to share some of the lessons I’ve learned and gather ideas that can help us all live the good life!
