I know from experience that funding an adoption is hard work! Fortunately, our friends, family, and even strangers were super supportive of our adoption fundraisers. That’s why I want to help families currently in the thick of fundraising spread the word. Below is a list of easy ways you can help an adoptive family.
My goal is to update this list regularly. If you have an adoption fundraiser you would like me to list, email me a public link, photos, and information about the adoptive family. I can’t guarantee any sales, but I hope my readers will look here first when searching for the perfect gift, t-shirt, or place to help a family adopt.

The Hoiberg Family
Their story: Every family has a story and ours includes adoption! We grieved when we realized we were unable to conceive a child biologically. Praying about the path forward, we feel strongly that God is leading this journey. And what a journey this will be! We are in the adoption process and are officially with an agency. Paperwork, hurry and wait, background checks, LOTS of unknowns, and worth it all. You can support their adoption by shopping their t-shirt fundraiser along with a few other items here.
The Kral Family

The Hudson Family
Cari Hudson’s story: My entire life my goal has been to have children. I have come to terms that it will likely not happen the natural way, so it’s time to adopt a baby. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love children and want one of my own.

The Bunkowske Family
Their story: We are Matt and Carrie. We are doing a “Family is more than blood” t-shirt fundraiser. Matt and I designed it, the shirts have a colorful handprint with a little hand in it because we believe that family isn’t just your blood relatives. Family comes in every color, shape and size. Your family can be your actual family, your friends, your community, and your coworkers.
We have been together for eight years, married for five and have been best friends since day one. We have each always wanted to be parents, and decided to try to start our family as soon as we got married. After about a year we found out that we are unable to have children. It was one of the most heartbreaking things we’ve ever been told. Our dream was fading away.
We were always open to adoption, Matt is adopted, as is his sister. And I have two adopted sisters and nephews. So adoption has always been in our hearts…however it has not always been an option financially. We prayed on it and finally said we have to at least try! So we have been saving money and working overtime to earn a little extra. We have been blessed by many friends and family’s generousity to our adoption fund. But we know we still have a ways to go. So while we wait to be chosen for our perfect baby, we’ll keep adding to it!
Check out their t-shirt fundraiser here.
The Tech Family
Their story: My husband and I have always wanted to build our family through adoption and bio-kids. Shortly after we were married, I had two miscarriages and was also diagnosed with stage three melanoma skin cancer. My year of treatments ended in April 2019. Yay! Since all that put trying for bio-kids on hold for a while, we felt it was the right time to begin our adoption journey. We’ve been fundraising and saving for just at a year now, and are right at 75% fully funded! We are currently matched with an expectant mama, and the baby is due in January!

The Cannon Family
Their story: Kristen and Spencer have always wanted to become parents. They have been married for five years and have been unable to have children. They both adore kids and cannot wait to welcome a child into their family. One of their greatest joys is being an aunt and uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, and they are eager to have a family of their own. She and Spencer are passionate about children being treated well and having opportunities to grow and flourish in a healthy and nurturing environment. Despite recent medical and financial setbacks, Kristen and Spencer are eager to become parents. They have been preparing for this moment for years and will love this child unconditionally. They are blessed to have a strong support network of family and friends who cannot wait to help them bring this baby home! Learn more about their story and donate here.

The Albrecht Family
Their story: Derick and I met at the end of 2012 and immediately hit it off. He’s been my rock through the years (and given me a thousand heart attacks), and I have always known he’d be an amazing father. On November 29, 2018, we received a call that a 4 month old baby was looking for an adoptive home, and we were placed with our son, Jackson. We’re still not sure how things worked out so perfectly with him, because 10 months later, we finalized our adoption of our boy and have been gushing over him ever since! We’ve recently decided that Jackson needs a sibling to grow up with, so we begin adoption journey #2. Click here to learn more about their story.
Help the Albrecht family adopt baby number two!
The Seltzer Family
Their story: Chris is a creative services producer at a local news station and I (Mariah) plan on being a stay at home mom. He is a huge sports fan (namely football) and I’m a book and nature lover. We love cooking nutritious meals from home (you HAVE to try my cauliflower & chickpea couscous bowl- nor would I turn a blind eye to my homemade Oreo truffles either!) We tried to conceive a baby ourselves but some fertility issues among other factors made it obvious it just wasn’t working out. We decided adoption was the best fit for us to not only grow our family but help a baby and birth mother in need. You can help them grow their family here.
The McDonald Family
Their story: If you are able to help me and “ADOPT” a puzzle piece, or donate to my adoption, I would be forever grateful! Your donation is helping me put a piece of my heart back into place. Your donation goes directly toward adoption, nothing else. It may take me some time, but this is my goal. Click here to for more details on this puzzle fundraiser.

They are adopting domestically and are doing a Both Hands project to raise money. If you aren’t familiar with Both Hands, your donations sponsor a team of volunteers to serve to do a project for a widow and help fund their adoption. The House Family
Their story: Meet the House family Robert (Dwayne), Tiffany, and Bailey. They are super excited to be growing their family through adoption. God said to care for the orphans and the widows and the House Family is doing just that. This is really cool. What better way if you can’t adopt yourself to give back. This will change these kid’s lives. I love this.
Thanks for stopping by to support adoption!
Such wonderful ways to raise the money to adopt! Part of me wishes it wasn’t so expensive, but I also know that this means kids are more likely going to homes of people that really want them. Good luck in January!!!
So important, especially when many worry it might be cost prohibitive. Thank you for writing this!
This is such a great list! I didn’t know there were so many ways to contribute to those children needing homes!
This is so cool! I’ve always thought about adopting but even if I don’t, it’s awesome to know there is a way to give to these organizations. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, it is nice to know there are ways to help even if you aren’t the one adopting! Thanks for reading!
Thank you so much for including us in your January list! We greatly appreciate any and all support that we are given with our adoption! 💕
