If you are throwing a large-scale egg hunt or Egg My Yard fundraiser, you need affordable supplies. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of the best Easter egg fillers. This post will focus on how to keep costs low for a successful Egg My Yard fundraiser, but the ideas also work for free church, family, and community hunts. Be sure to check out my Egg My Yard tips and tricks post for a free Easter bunny letter printable!
For Egg My Yard, the rule of thumb is to keep the cost of each egg filler at 10 cents or less. With inflation and other variables, this may not be possible. In this case, I recommend raising the price for your customers to cover costs. This is a fundraiser, after all! Whether you are trying to fund an adoption, support a sports team, benefit a nonprofit, or finance your cause, make sure the payoff is worth your time and effort.
I recommend varying your Easter egg fillers by using candy, trinkets, stickers, and other small items. You don’t want to look cheap, but it isn’t necessary to fill each egg with the same expensive candy. Be sure to know the size of your eggs and filler before ordering to save yourself some trouble.
First and foremost, ask for donations! Your friends, family, or neighbors may be willing to give you supplies to get started. Whether it’s eggs or fillers, people may have items you can use in their house they would love to contribute to a good cause. Or they might be willing to buy something for you. You don’t know until you ask!
After you assess what you need, it’s time to buy egg fillers! Below you’ll find several ideas from online retailers for both candy and non-candy items. Note that prices may have changed since I published this post.
