My daughter just turned four and loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So we celebrated with a DIY Mickey Mouse birthday party! I love to bring a party theme to life while keeping the budget small. Below are tips and ideas for decorations, outfits, invitations, supplies, and more for your Mickey or Minnie-loving child.

Mickey Mouse Invitations
If you have the time and ability, I recommend making your invitations. A basic Mickey Mouse silhouette is easy to make with some strategically placed circles, and the colors are simple. I would have gone with Minnie Mouse, but the bow was difficult to find without photoshop work or buying a licensed image. Sticking with Mickey was an easy way for me to cut costs.
I like to print a couple of physical invitations on cardstock to mail to my grandparents and to save one for her birthday book. (If you don’t have a copy of Your Birthday Book: A Keepsake Journal, stop what you are doing and order it now. I have it for both of my kids and it is my go-to gift for first birthdays.) To save money, I text a digital image of the invitation to the other guests.
There are also plenty of affordable Mickey Mouse invitations on Etsy if you would rather not go the DIY route.

Food Ideas for a Mickey Mouse Birthday Party
Feeding a bunch of people can get expensive very quickly. That’s why I usually have family parties at my house which limits the guest list. I also try to have the birthday party at a time where people won’t expect a full meal.
For this party, I pulled food inspiration from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We did Hot Diggity Dogs (hot dogs) as the foundation with condiments, hot dog chili, and cheese. I bought macaroni and cheese from Costco (on sale!) for my Oh, Toodles Noodles. You could absolutely make your own if you prefer.
For side dishes, I served strawberries and blueberries on toothpicks in the shape of hair bows, aptly named Minnie’s Bow-tique. Potato chips and Cheez-Its became “Chips and Dale” and “Donald and Daisy’s Quackers,” respectively.
My daughter doesn’t like cake, so we skipped it for DIY Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie treats. I bought these Mickey Mouse cookie cutters and red and black food coloring to make these easy desserts. Make sure you don’t add too much of the dye or they won’t stick together well, which I may or may not have learned from experience on the black Mickey heads…
Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats were the perfect alternative to cake, and they were so easy to make!
I also bought a bag of mini Oreos and Double Stuf Oreos for another Mickey-themed dessert. Twist open and scrape the cream off the small cookies, then gently push two of them into the cream of the bigger Oreos for another Mickey head. If you have time, you can always add an icing bow to turn these into Minnie Mouse birthday treats.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party Supplies
Big and small black paper plates were perfect for the Mickey Mouse theme! I just laid them out in the shape of Mickey’s head. Red napkins with white polka dots, also known as Handy Helpers, were cute party supplies. I wrapped one around a plastic cup to make a themed holder for forks, spoons, and knives. These were the Mousekatools.
In true Clubhouse fashion, I encouraged everyone to put on ears and say, “Cheers!” Red party hats with white dots made the perfect base for black foam ears. I had the foam already from one of my DIY Halloween costumes, so I just cut them into circles and hot glued them to the hats.
My daughter received the whole plush Mickey’s Clubhouse gang for Christmas so we invited them to party. She has the 18-inch versions, but you can get this gift bag with 11-inch Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto to have the whole set cheaper. Obviously, this isn’t a necessity, but they are some of her favorite toys.
Decorations for a Disney Party
Party decorations are another way to quickly blow your budget. I kept mine simple and mostly DIY. The happy birthday banner is from Walmart for around $3. Or you can get a set with a banner, door hanger, and garland here.
I also did a DIY hanging decoration with a self-sealing foil number balloon and paper pom poms from Dollar Tree. The larger pom pom worked as a head and I stapled the smaller ones on as ears to make a paper Mickey Mouse. I hung those items along with some leftover red decorations from a previous party to make a centerpiece over the food.
The black plates also made a super easy Minnie Mouse welcome sign for my front door. I stapled three together and added a string and bow. A silver Sharpie made the writing for “Come inside; it’s fun inside” show up on the dark background. Click here to download your free copy of the food tent and bow images!
The L’s Clubhouse sign was a scrap of foam board with balloons attached to a yard stake I found in the garage.
Mickey Mouse Birthday Outfit
Etsy is a gold mine for cute Mickey or Minnie birthday shirts! I got an adorable this personalized shirt, skirt, and bow for a really good price. Because I decided not to put her age or anything birthday specific on it, she can actually wear it again.

Party Games for Mickey Mouse Birthday
This was a four-year-old birthday party with kids under one, three, five, and seven years old, so I didn’t have any elaborate activities. But I did make a DIY pin the bow on Minnie Mouse game for less than two dollars that the older kids loved. I bought a piece of black poster board and cut a simple Mickey silhouette from it. Then I glued it on a yellow poster board I already had. I printed bows on cardstock and let the kids spin and attach them with tape. We also had a few crayons and coloring books with Mickey, Minnie, and the Clubhouse gang for any downtime with the kids (or adults!).

It also says it was opened at 1:59 AM and several links were clicked. Sometimes it goes to people’s spam or junk folders so I always suggest checking there.
