Amazon Prime Day is July 16-17, 2024. This two-day event is packed with huge deals and the best sales of the year. It can all be a little overwhelming. That’s why I’ll be finding the best Prime Day deals for parents (or anyone who loves to save money).. Also read on for everything you need to know to get started. Be sure to check my Instagram stories frequently throughout the event for the latest updates.
Save on Amazon Prime Membership
You must be an Amazon Prime member to participate and Prime Day. While the free, fast shipping is a huge perk of membership, the access to free streaming movies and tv on Prime Video, free unlimited photo storage (my fav!), free e-books for Kindle, music streaming, and more make it worth the $14.99 monthly fee. There are also a few ways to save on your membership to make it an even better deal.
First, try Amazon Prime for FREE for 30 days by signing up for a trial. This is not for current members, but is great for new members and even those who have taken a break for a while. Click here to see if the free Prime membership trial works for you.
Are you a student? Or the parent of college student? Don’t miss this deal! College students get Amazon Prime Student FREE for six months. This trial is perfect for gathering everything for the dorm, textbooks at up to 90% off, two-hour grocery delivery, and more. After the trial is over, Prime Student memberships are half off the regular price. Click here to start your free six-month trial of Prime Student.
Did you know that if you receive government assistance such as SNAP, WIC, and TANF that you are eligible for half off your Prime membership? You can even use your EBT card for eligible grocery purchases on the site! This is great for foster parents or anyone who qualifies. Sign up here to save 50% on your Prime membership and you’ll earn a $5 shopping credit.
You can also give Prime as a gift for three months or 12 months. The annual membership offers a discount of 22% off the monthly fee.
Best Early Prime Day Deals and Credits
Prime Day may be July 16 and 17, but there are lots of ways to start the savings now! Check out some of my favorites below. As always, these deals don’t last long and are subject to change.
Get a $200 Amazon Gift Card for Prime Day Shopping
If you are interested in an Amazon Prime Credit Card (my mom loves hers for the 5% cashback rewards on Amazon purchases), now is the time to sign up! If approved, you get a $200 Amazon gift card. I just did this and got the $200 instantly added to my account!
Note: I only suggest credit cards that you can pay off the balance each month. If you are unable to do that, this does not save you money at all.
Deep Discounts on Amazon Devices
Some of the deepest discounts for Prime Day are found on Amazon devices like the Echo, Kindle, Fire tablets, and Ring cameras. Many are more than 60% off! Check out what’s on sale with Prime Day Deals.
Other Ways to Save
Set Price Drop Alerts Now
There will be a ton of deals for Prime Day, but to ensure you are getting things that are truly on sale I recommend a browser extension like Honey. You can check the price history and set alerts for lower prices with the Droplist feature. Click here to join Honey and make sure you get the best deals.
Join Rakuten for Cash Back
Rakuten is my favorite cash back tool out there. I’ve used it for years and am currently at $1,051 lifetime cash back. While they are hit and miss on Amazon cash back, I tell everyone about this because you get checks mailed to you quarterly for online and in-store purchases. This is not a gimmick! Join now to get an extra 10% cash back on your shopping.
Get Rewards for Amazon Purchases with Fetch
Another easy way to get free gift card rewards is to connect the Fetch app to your Amazon account. It’s simple and you get points every time an Amazon order ships. I use this all the time and have earned gift cards to places of my choice like Lowe’s and Amazon. Get the Fetch app here. It’s so fetch! (Cue Mean Girls memories!)
